In the early 1970s, Jesse Hutchison went to his garage and crafted a brass key ring. His wife, Marian, used the ring for her car keys for the next 50 years, before passing it on to her daughter, Jill, who still uses it today.

Grey Mare remains a true family business run by generations of Jesse’s family.  The company is run by Jesse’s daughter Jill, and her two daughters Meredith and Laura Grey. The rings are handcrafted by Jill’s husband, Mike Smith.
